We started off today by looking at a graph. The graph depicted the growth of human population throughout time. It was really interesting that the population grew very slowly for most of history and then began to grow very rapidly in recent history. Why do you think that happened? What do you think caused that change? Post your thoughts here...
We also spent a decent amount of time working with five more vocabulary words: Surplus, Social Classes, Civilization, Irrigation, and Artisan. Tomorrow we will continue working with those words by having a peer-review session.
Test Update: It looks like we will be ready to have a review session on Tuesday of next week and follow that up with the test on Wednesday.

I think it did this because I think the New Stone Age started and farming began. When people discovered agriculture they knew they could make a living. So, people moved to different places on the earth and started a community, village or even a religion. They started a living and soon had families which then grew.

@MacK - I think you are on to something... We will explore this a little more in class today. Thanks for thinking critically!
I think that back during the Stone Age people weren't sure how raising children would be. (How difficult it would be) But as time goes on people realized that they needed the children to help with various things. Also, as we talked about in class. (prd. 3 at least) people during the Stone Age did not live a very long life, because of diseases, this could effect them having children because they could've died before they got the chance to have any.
@ Cameron - Good points! It is interesting to consider the effects of the short life span on the ability to have children. I think that you would have found people having kids much younger than they typically do today.
