Wow! It was hot in my room today. I want to thank everyone for working hard despite the terrible conditions. Today was primarily used for a group work session. Students were to complete their vocabulary sheet (Chapter 1, Section 2) and identify all of the continents and oceans on their world maps. Students will take a quiz on Friday pertaining to the map. Although there is no homework for my class, students should be studying!
Additional copies of the map may be downloaded from my teacher's page.

In addition to providing data for analysis, the laser scans of the footprints also serve as a valuable record of the site in its current state. The Rift Valley of Kenya, the discovery site of many early hominid fossils and prints, is an area of seismic activity. The Rift Valley lies at a triple junction of continental plates, where three plates are pulling away from one another: the Arabian Plate, and the two parts of the African Plate (the Nubian and the Somalian) splitting along the East African Rift Zone. As a result, the area has many volcanoes and earthquakes. Earthquakes in the Rift valley can be seen on the CyArk Hazard map.

If so, what is it?
@Kelly - For the quiz on Friday, all you need to know are the continents and oceans. It should be quick and simple. As far as the first test goes...
I am not sure when it will be yet or what it will look like. I have some ideas that I am still thinking about. Anyway, you should know all of the vocabulary along with the three 'parts' of the stone age (which we haven't discussed yet). There will be more, but I will make it VERY clear before the test. Trust me!
