There were many articals to choose from but the one that caught my attention the most was called "city police investigating shooting that wounded 2" The reason I picked this one is because it made me think that our neighborhoods just aren't safe any more. And because of not being safe you can't do anything. Such as go to the store for food, pick up your kids, play outside etc. All people should be able to go outside and relax while being safe. This artical is important because it's to show how much crime and violence is starting in our city. My opinon on this artical is people should stand up and protest for this violence and crime that keeps going on nonstop.

College grads looking for jobs have work cut out for them
By: David A. Kostivial
Oringinally Published: 3/23/10

My article was about how because of the economy and the work requirement seniors (of college) are having a hard time finding work. Its also about how even with bachlor degrees not many people are being allowed to work because they haven't worked for at least a year.
I selected this article because its very close to me because my brother is going to be in college soon (3 years!). I also selected this article because 3 years after that I'll be in college so I thought that would be a good article for me to be aware of.

Abbey,
You selected a very good article. I agree with many of the points that you made. Some of the things that are going on in our community are very scary, and that impacts all of us. Maybe more kids your age should read articles like this and maybe they will understand why parents set rules regarding where they are allowed to go and with whom.

Summer,
The value of an undergraduate degree (bachelors) is going down. There was a time when many people didn't even consider college, but that has been changing. Today, graduate degrees are even becoming devalued in a lot of ways. The most important thing to remember is that you should continue to try your hardest and be yourself. Things will hopefully fall in line!

Great job, girls!

Over 17,000 species threatened by extinction

There were many articles but this one caught my attention because so many animals are on the endangered species list and they are adding 17,000 more. They looked at 47,677 animal species and 17,291 of them are at the risk of extinction today. There are many amphibians and small mammals at the 'most popular' species on the list. There was however a mammal added to the list the Eastern Voalavo,a mouse like mammal. There were over 300 reptiles added to the list, and about 3,120 freshwater fish added. This article has interested me because there is only so many animals in the world ,and we will not get a chance to learn about them if people kill them for no apparent reason.
